Froth, Faith, and Taizé…Oh My!!

Happy November, everyone!

This month, we’ll be doing something a little different. On Monday, November 22, we will meet at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 11200 Old Georgetown Road, North Bethesda, MD 20852.

We will meet beginning at 6:30 pm as we usually do, but at 7:30, we will move from the Social Hall to the sanctuary to worship in the style of Taizé until about 8:00 pm. For those who have not experienced Taizé, the services are meditative and contemplative in nature, revolving around Scripture readings, prayer, and repetitive singing. For more information about the Taizé community and style of worship, check out their website: http://www.taize.fr/en.

For our discussion, please eat beforehand or plan to eat after. We will have snacks, but not a full dinner. In light of Thanksgiving, our discussion topic will be “thankfulness.” What does being thankful mean? How can we practice giving thanks every day in our lives? How does being thankful affect our lives and the lives of those around us? To add to our conversation, bring ideas for how we can incorporate an attitude of thanksgiving into our everyday lives.

Hope to see YOU there!
